Euthanasia essay

"Euthanasia is the practice of intentionally ending a life in order to relieve pain and suffering", it also means "good death". Although, this is just the oppossite, the cause of death is not the patients disease but something that is done to the patient to cause his or her death, because euthanasia ends another person's life and it's wrong to perform it.
Firstly there is a big difference between killing a people who ask for death, and killing people without their knowledge. Euthanasia is an inhuman way of taking care of a difficult problem, but it's not inhuman to keep someone alive as long as possible, because if a cure is found, then the victim could possibly go on to live a long life. It would be inhuman not letting the victim live the rest of his life. Except if the person asks to be killed in a good way. The court of appeals of washington said "helping a person who wants to end his life constitutes a criminal act and subjects the aider to the possibility of a lengthy term of imprisonment, even if the recipient of the help is a terminally ill and the aider is a licensed physician who is providing medical assistance at the request of the patient".
Secondly, euthanasia is categorized in different ways: voluntary; which is the practice of ending a life in a painless manner, non voluntary euthanasia, that is euthanasia conducted where the explicit consent of the individual concerned is unavailable, such as when the person is in a persistent vegetative state. "Voluntary euthanasia" is legal in some countries, "non voluntary" euthanasia is illegal in all countries. In some countries there is divisive public controversy over the moral, ethical, and legal issues of euthanasia. Those who are against may argue fot the sanitty of life, while proponents of euthanasia rights emphasize alleviating suffering and preserving bodily integrity.
In conclusion, i believe that euthanasia should be illegal because instead of being a "good death" its totally the contrary.  Opposing my self, i think that if the person is suffering a lot and he asked to be killed, euthanasia should exist.

Cigarettes advertising

1- Advertising help tabacco companies to defend their interest due to it`s message. In the past  advertising show that probably if you smoke you were fashionable. Also, for example a lucky strike advertising says "smoke a lucky to feel your level best" and this, in a way, encourages you to start smoking.
2- In my opinion cigarettes advertising distorts the truth because, in the past, tobacco companies make propaganda saying that for example, if you smoke, you will feel better, or you are going to be in your best level, but the truth is that when you smoke you are killing your self slowly. I sayed "in the past" because nowadays companies like Marlboro in the cigarettes box put propaganda saying the illnesses that the cigarette cause.

In this picture we can see that a tobacco companie make a propaganda saying "Blow in her face and she will follow you anywhere". Their vested interest is that puting this in a propaganda encourages a man to smoke, because the message is that if you smoke probably you will have more girls, so they would sell more cigarettes.

In this image, the tobacco companies is showing that if you smoke their cigarette you will be happy and be lucky, so this also encourage people to buy cigarettes

Mad Men

During our thinking skills class, we saw an extract from an episode of "Mad Men",and we analize it.
1) We can infered that there is a vested interest from lucky strike owner so as to sell his product and without revealing all the bad diseases that it could cause. We also could see that Don had also an vested interest  with the idea of  revealing a good image from the company to the society and to show to his superiors how quick he was to produce new ideas and propose new proyects.
2) Because the peter`s idea didn`t deny that ciggarrates are dangerous for the health, and Dony`s idea was to show society elements from the cigarrates that dont have to do with the diseases and this was the nbest fot the company, also for the lucky strike owner and to society.

Capital punishment

Capital punishment is when a government or state executes someone, usually because they have committed a serious crime. I am against this punishment, because, in my opinion, executement is an extreme punishment for someone that commited a crime.

Firstly, I´m against death penalty because I believe that criminals´ mind, in some cases, can change if they are taken to an expert like a psychologist or a psychiatrist.

Secondly, I opose punishment by execution because sometimes justice can fail and an innocent person couuld be executed without having committed a crime.

Thirdly, I am against capital punishment because this punishment is revenge rather than justice, because killing the criminal doesn´t recover the person who was killed. Killing the criminal won´t fic the damage he left behind.

In other words, I consider that in a very extreme case, for example, when a men killed their daughter, death penalty should function because that criminal is completely crazy and nobody can solve it.

To conclude, as I said before, death penalty should be avoided in mayor cases but it should be used in extreme cases taking the inforrmation of the criminal of a very important and credible source.
